Description
Scaletrains ExactRail Platinum presents the EP80551-2 PC&F 7633 Appliance Boxcar in HO Scale, specifically for the Milwaukee Road as delivered in 1975, numbered #4222. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In March 1975, Pacific Car & Foundry delivered 40 of these 7633 cubic foot boxcars to the Milwaukee Road, numbered from 4213 to 4252. Many had a return stencil for the Penn Central. Some were later edited for new assignments at the Hotpoint Company, while others kept the original stencil for years. After the Milwaukee Road ended, many went to the Canadian Pacific, mostly staying in their original paint. This all-new model has many great features. It covers the era from 1975 to today. It's precision micro-tooled and fully assembled (except the kit). There are multiple road numbers available. Designed, engineered, and tooled in the US, it has highly accurate artwork. It comes with ExactRail’s 70-Ton Barber S-2 Trucks, CNC-machined 33' metal wheel sets, and Kadee #156 couplers. The body-mounted draft box is fully detailed, with numerous hand-applied details like air hoses and grab irons. Door tracks and door bars are also separately applied, along with wire coupler cut levers and drop-down brake rigging. In the 1970s, 60' high-cube appliance boxcars emerged from various manufacturers, often confused with auto parts boxcars. The 7633s were delivered to several railroads, many with Air-Pak bulkheads. They were rated at 70 tons and came with Barber S-2 trucks. A similar 100-ton version was also available. Even though they were bought by western or midwestern railroads, they spent much time in the east. If you model from 1975 to today, we have the perfect PC&F 7633 Appliance Boxcar for you!

Using your ExactRail Platinum HO Scale Milwaukee Road Appliance Boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad tracks and couple it with other cars using the Kadee #156 couplers. For the best display, you can choose from the multiple road numbers available to fit your model's era and theme. When handling the boxcar, be gentle with the hand - applied details like the air hoses, grab irons, door tracks, and door bars. These are delicate and can break if not handled carefully. To maintain your boxcar, keep it in a clean and dry place. You can use a soft, dry cloth to dust it off occasionally. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the car, as they can damage the paint and details. If you notice any loose parts, like the wire coupler cut levers or brake rigging, you can use a small amount of glue suitable for model trains to fix them. This will keep your boxcar in great condition for years to come.
