Description
This is an Atlas N Scale 60' GSI flatcar representing ICG Illinois Central Gulf #910321 in orange and black. Note that the picture might show a different road number. General Steel Industries (GSI), formerly General Steel Castings, was a major player in the railroad industry. In 1956, they introduced the 60' flatcar which had a long service life and was bought by many railroads. It could be a complete car or a kit. It was used to haul various items like lumber, poles, wallboard, heavy or military equipment, railcar frames, and aircraft parts. Many are still in use today for hauling wrecks or in maintenance - of - way tasks. This ready - to - run flatcar features a die - cast metal frame, fine - scale detail, a prototypical ride height, BLMA 70 - Ton ASF Ride Control Trucks, BLMA Low Profile 33″ Metal Wheels, and body - mounted brown knuckle couplers.
Using this Atlas N Scale flatcar is easy. Just place it on your N - scale railroad track and start your train operation. It's ready - to - run, so you don't have to do any complex setup. When handling it, be gentle as the fine - scale details can be fragile. Avoid dropping or applying excessive force. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the car periodically. Check the trucks and wheels regularly to make sure they roll smoothly. If there's any dirt or debris, use a small brush to clean them. Store the flatcar in a dry place to prevent rust or damage to the metal parts. That way, your flatcar will stay in great condition for a long time.
