Description
The Atlas 50004920 PS - 2750 Hopper represents the Louisville & Nashville #188388 in eye - catching boxcar red and white, in N Scale (picture might show a different road number). In the 1950s, Pullman - Standard introduced new standard designs for coal hoppers. This 70 - ton three - bay coal hopper has a 2,750 - cubic - foot capacity. The carbody features sixteen side posts and is available with or without heap shields. An 80 - ton version with a 2,960 - cubic - foot capacity also came later. These cars were built from 1954 - 1960 (2750 cf) and 1964 - 1971 (2960 cf). Key features include fifteen panels, die - cast hopper and center sill construction, a late 20th - century prototype, optional heap shields, friction - or roller - bearing trucks, a Pullman - Standard design, and over 16,000 cars built.

Using this N - scale hopper is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and it's ready to roll. When handling, be gentle to avoid any damage to the delicate parts like the die - cast hopper and center sill. Keep it away from rough surfaces and sharp objects. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the carbody regularly. Check the trucks, whether they are friction - or roller - bearing, from time to time to make sure they roll smoothly. If you have the optional heap shields, ensure they are properly attached. Store the hopper in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or discoloration.
