Description
The Atlas 20006522 NSC Newsprint Box Car, representing Canadian Pacific (CP) with the road number #80999, is a high - quality HO scale model. It sports a green and white color scheme with the Pine Tree Logo and Script Lettering. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In 1967, the National Steel Car Corporation in Hamilton, Ontario, designed the first cars for dedicated newsprint transport between Canada and the US. These cars had riveted or welded sides and smooth interiors, crucial for protecting 2000 - pound paper rolls stacked two high. They needed large door openings and had either sliding Youngstown lever - type flush plug doors or lever - less exterior post plug doors. Seven railroads initially bought these cars, and they were in international paper shipping until the late 2000s, wearing various colorful paint schemes. This model features separately applied detail parts, prototypically accurate paint and door setups, and comes with knuckle couplers and free - rolling Symington roller bearing trucks.
Using this HO scale Atlas box car model is easy. You can simply place it on your train track layout as part of your collection or a dynamic display. When handling it, be gentle as the separately applied detail parts can be fragile. Avoid dropping or applying too much pressure. To keep it in top condition, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint from fading. Periodically, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently dust the car. If the knuckle couplers or trucks seem stiff, you can use a small amount of appropriate lubricant, but be careful not to over - lubricate as it may attract dirt.
