Description
This Atlas HO scale model train, specifically the GP-40 CP Rail #4611 (model number 150-10004025), comes with ditch lights, DCC, and sound features. Note that the picture might show a different road number. In 1966, EMD launched a new locomotive line using the 16-cylinder 645-series prime mover. The GP40, a four-axle model in the '40-series', had 1,145 units produced from 1966 - 1972. These 3,000hp turbocharged locomotives were great for road freight. With three rooftop radiator fans at the long hood's rear, it's distinct from the GP38. The GP38, a non-turbocharged 2,000hp locomotive, had 727 units made from 1966 - 1971. Both models shared a similar body style and wheelbase. The Atlas GP38 and GP40 models offer options like long hoods with or without dynamic brakes and underframes with different fuel tank sizes. The train has many great features such as golden-white LEDs, a realistic die-cast underframe, a high - performance motor, and more. Additional parts for the GP-40 are included but not installed. The Gold Series has excellent sound and DCC operation features, with over 20 sound effects and flexible function key mapping.

Using your Atlas HO scale GP-40 CP Rail model train is easy. First, connect it to your DCC system following the instructions that came with the system. Once connected, you can start programming the functions using the DCC controller. You can select different sound effects, like the engine start - up and the air horn, and adjust the speed. When it comes to the notching modes, you can switch between manual and automatic 'on the fly' for a more realistic experience. As for maintenance, regularly clean the wheels and the track with a soft cloth to keep the train running smoothly. Also, check the couplers and other moving parts to make sure they're in good condition. Be careful when handling the train, especially the separately - installed parts like the windshield wipers and grab irons, as they're delicate. If you want to install the additional parts like the electrical cabinet air filter box, do it gently to avoid any damage.
