Description
The Athearn 15387 FP45 BNSF #93 is an excellent N scale locomotive. It's fully assembled and ready to run right out of the box. This model is carefully scaled from prototype resources such as drawings, field measurements, and photos. It features accurately painted and printed paint schemes that look really sharp. The see - through cab windows offer a view of the detailed and painted cab interior with a control stand. Fine - scale Celcon handrails and end handrails give it a great scale appearance. The McHenry scale knuckle couplers ensure smooth connections. It has a 5 - pole skew wound motor, precision machined flywheels, and a multi - link drivetrain for trouble - free operation. All - wheel drive with precision gears provides smooth and quiet running, and all - wheel electrical pickup guarantees reliable current flow. The LED headlight adds a nice touch. The heavy die - cast frame gives it better traction and more pulling power. It comes in a jewel case blister packaging for safe storage. Replacement parts are available. Other features include non - skid end walks, a 4,000 - gallon fuel tank, Flexicoil - C sideframes with high brake cylinders, flush - mounted portal window glass, and a snow plow or plate welded pilot. It has a minimum radius of 9 ¾”. For sound - equipped models, it has an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound. The sound units work in both DC and DCC. All DCC functions are available in DCC mode, and engine, horn, and bell sounds work in DC. It offers precision slow - speed control and allows you to program a multiple - unit (MU) lashup with lead - unit - only horn, bell, and lights. All functions are NMRA compatible in DCC mode.

Using this Athearn FP45 BNSF #93 N scale locomotive is easy. Just take it out of the jewel case blister packaging and place it on your N scale track. If you're using a DC power source, the engine, horn, and bell sounds will work right away. For more functions, switch to DCC mode. In DCC mode, you can access all the DCC functions and enjoy precision slow - speed control. When programming a multiple - unit (MU) lashup, make sure to follow the instructions to get the lead - unit - only horn, bell, and lights working. As for maintenance, keep it clean. You can use a soft brush to gently clean the body and wheels. If any parts get damaged, replacement parts are available. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. And always check the electrical connections to ensure reliable current flow. Also, when running the locomotive, make sure the track is clean and free of debris to ensure smooth operation.
