Description
The 745-1328 IMF4 IRC Decoder is a N-scale drop-in decoder designed for InterMountain F-unit locomotives. It has an interface type of Drop-In, with dimensions of 2.158' x 0.47' x 0.179' (54.81mm x 11.93mm x 4.54mm). It offers 1.0/2.0 Amp continuous/peak current, 3 total functions with an 80 mA function rating, 4 12V outputs, and 4 LED outputs. Compatible with InterMountain F3A/B, F7A/B, and F9B locomotives. This decoder features Back EMF Load Compensation for great slow speed control, Quiet Drive for noise - free motor performance, DC Mode for automatic DC power detection, RailCom® for communication with the command station, Variable Momentum for custom acceleration curves, and many more useful features like LED support without external resistors, incandescent bulb support, function remapping, programmable lighting effects, dimmable brightness, decoder lock, Airwire™ compatibility, and user - loadable speed tables. Note that it's designed for the older style InterMountain frame with brass motor feet connecting the motor to the control board.

Using this decoder is straightforward. First, make sure your locomotive is an InterMountain F - unit and has the older style frame with brass motor feet connecting the motor to the control board. Then, install the decoder as a drop - in unit. You can take advantage of its various features. For example, if you want to control the speed better, use the Back EMF Load Compensation and Variable Momentum features. When it comes to lighting, you can choose from 20 programmable lighting effects and set different brightness levels. Remember, when using DC power, the decoder will detect it automatically, and you can configure the lighting effects as you like. For maintenance, keep it clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you need to program it, make sure the decoder lock is deactivated to prevent accidental changes. Also, take care when using the user - loadable speed tables to set custom speed curves and limits according to your needs.
