This N Scale conversion kit is a perfect fit for Kato's E8/9 and PA - 1 ‘A’ unit Diesel Locomotives (1998 release). It's designed for the new Kato E8/9 and other locomotives with similar pilot underset mountings and split one - piece truck - mounted rear draft gear. The kit includes two pairs of #2001 couplers with long and short coupler lip shanks and coupler knuckle shanks, suitable for both short and long radii track curves.

Using this coupler conversion kit is easy. First, make sure your locomotive is the right model - Kato E8/9 or PA - 1 ‘A’ unit Diesel Locomotives from 1998 release or others with similar mountings. Then, carefully install the two pairs of #2001 couplers. You can choose the long or short coupler lip shanks and coupler knuckle shanks according to the track curves you use. For short radii curves, the appropriate shanks will give better performance. When installing, handle the couplers gently to avoid damage. As for maintenance, keep the couplers clean.
