Description
Upgrade your 1960s and later freight car fleet with the Walthers Mainline 40 - foot American Car and Foundry Modernized Welded Boxcar featuring 8 - foot Youngstown Doors. These HO scale models are based on real boxcars that were rebuilt to meet new safety standards from the late 1960s to the 1980s. Key features include a brand - new body style, a limited - quantity one - time run of these road numbers. The prototypes were used in general freight service. The models have no running boards or mounts on the roof, tall ladders and a molded roof - mounted grab iron at the B (brake wheel end) only, and short ladders at the A end. They also boast a detailed 10 - panel body, 8 - foot Youngstown doors, late Stanray 4/4 improved Dreadnaught ends, a Stanray diagonal panel roof, correct 33 - foot turned metal RP - 25 metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.

Using this Walthers HO scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model train track and connect it to other cars using the Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers. It's designed to fit well with other HO scale models, so it'll look great in your freight car fleet. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid damaging the detailed parts like the ladders and doors. For maintenance, use a soft brush to clean off dust regularly. You can also use a mild cleaner on the body if it gets dirty. Keep it stored in a dry place to prevent any rust or damage to the metal parts like the wheelsets and couplers. Enjoy adding this unique boxcar to your collection and watching it roll along your tracks.
