Description
Walthers 910-3965 presents a 57-foot mechanical reefer in HO scale, specifically for the Southern Pacific (SP) railroad with SPFE #456349. Note that the picture might show a different road number. These WalthersMainline 57' Reefers are perfect for transporting all sorts of perishable products on your HO railroad. Based on cars built by Pacific Car and Foundry (PC&F) from 1967 to 1968 for Pacific Fruit Express and multiple railroads, these prototypes were in service until the early 2000s, serving growing areas, cold storage plants, and regional grocery distributors. They come fully assembled in colorful period - style schemes, with nice details and an affordable price. Check out these great features: one - time production of these road numbers, limited quantity available; they were used to move fresh fruits, vegetables, canned, and frozen foods; appropriate Keystone or Hydra - Cushion underframe detail; short ladders and low hand brakes; a 9 - foot Youngstown plug door with separate latch bars; an authentic Stanray peaked, ribbed roof with a capped exhaust stack; a detailed underbody with brake gear and fuel tanks; 70 - ton roller bearing trucks; correct 33 - foot RP - 25 turned - metal wheelsets; and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.

Using this Walthers 910 - 3965 HO scale 57 - foot mechanical reefer is easy. Just place it on your HO railroad track and let it transport all those perishable goods like fresh fruits and veggies around your layout. When handling, be gentle as it has some delicate details like the short ladders and hand brakes. To keep it in good shape, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the colorful paint scheme. Check the wheelsets and couplers from time to time to make sure they're moving smoothly. If you notice any loose parts, you can use a small amount of glue suitable for model trains to fix them. And remember, since it's a limited - quantity item, handle it with extra care.
