Description
This Otter Valley 6478 NSC 64 Ft 6400 CuFt Scrap and Trash Gondola in N Scale (AABX #206027) is an exclusive offering. Note that the picture might show a different road number. The NSC 64Ft Gondola is a workhorse in the construction and waste disposal industries, hauling waste to transfer sites. It's also used to transport light to medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrappers to end - users. You can spot these cars all over North America in unit or manifest train services, especially in the post - 2000 era. The model features accurate ends and sloting based on real - world measurements. It has different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. Designed using industry sources and field data, it comes with a correctly sized air reservoir and brake levers in the release position. It has metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and proper air hoses. The Microtrains type Knuckle coupler ensures smooth operation. Separately applied ladders and a fully detailed underbody add to its realism. The near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail is a nice touch, and the crisp painting and lettering match the prototype. Wheels are appropriately labeled with Bremco or Timken.
Using this Otter Valley scrap and trash gondola model is easy. Just connect it to your train set using the Microtrains type Knuckle coupler. You can run it on either unit train or manifest train services in your model railroad. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders or other delicate parts. Keep it away from sharp objects. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to dust it regularly. If it gets dirty, you can use a mild soap solution and a soft brush to clean the surface gently. Make sure to dry it thoroughly before putting it back on the track. Check the wheels and couplers from time to time to ensure they are in good working condition. Replace any parts that show signs of excessive wear and tear.
