Description
This is an Otter Valley exclusive N Scale model of the NSC 64 Ft Scrap and Trash Gondola (CDEX #16135). Note that the picture might show a different road number. The real - world NSC 64Ft Gondola is a workhorse in construction and waste disposal, hauling waste to transfer sites. It also transports light - to - medium density steel and other scrapping materials from scrap yards to end - users, and can be spotted across North America in unit or manifest train services, especially in the post - 2000 era. This model features accurate ends and sloting based on field data, different offset slots for 7 - rung and 8 - rung ladder cars. It's a newly designed model using industry sources and field measurements. It has the correct size air reservoir and brake levers in the release position, metal wheels, coupler cut bars, and proper air hoses. The Microtrains type knuckle coupler, separately applied ladders, fully detailed underbody, near - scale draft gear box with specialized cushion detail, and crisp painting and lettering per the prototype make it a high - quality collectible. The wheels are appropriately marked with Bremco or Timken.
Using this Otter Valley N Scale gondola model is easy. You can place it on your model train track just like any other train car. Connect it to other cars using the Microtrains type knuckle coupler. It looks great in both unit train and manifest train setups. When handling the model, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders and other small details. Keep it away from sharp objects and strong impacts. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to dust it regularly. If there's any dirt on the metal wheels, you can use a mild cleaning solution and a small brush to clean them carefully. Make sure to dry the wheels completely before putting the model back on the track.
