Description
For the first time in N scale, Broadway Limited is introducing the USRA Light and Heavy 2-8-2 designs, known as Heavy and Light Mikados. The USRA built 233 original Heavy 2-8-2s and another 957 copies for 23 railroads. It was a very successful design. The Heavy Mikados had similar running gear to the Light ones but larger boilers and cylinders, with about 10% higher tractive effort. The USRA built 625 Light Mikados in total, and 641 copies were made later. Over 50 railroads used these models. BLI's models closely follow the original designs, without railroad - specific variations. We usually offer two locomotive numbers per railroad and a black, unlettered painted model. Our industry - leading features include the NEW Paragon3 Sound & Operation System with ROLLING THUNDER, integral DCC decoder for great slow - speed operation, precision drive mechanism for heavy load towing, premium painting, and prototypical light operation. The product info features a die - cast body and chassis for max tractive effort, traction tires, operating couplers, and separately applied details. It can operate on different rail codes and has a recommended minimum radius of 9.75 inches. The sound features are amazing too, with operation in DC and DCC, record & play function, high - quality sound sample rate, and many user - controllable functions.

Using this N scale locomotive is easy. First, choose the right power environment, either DC or DCC. If you're using DC, you'll need a DCMaster for sound. Connect the locomotive to your track and power it up. You can control its speed and direction using your power source. For the sound features, use the function keys on your controller to activate different sounds like the whistle, bell, and ambient station or yard sounds. When it comes to maintenance, keep the locomotive clean. Use a soft brush to remove dust from the body, wheels, and mechanical parts. Check the traction tires regularly to make sure they're in good condition. If the locomotive is not going to be used for a long time, store it in a dry and cool place. Make sure to follow the recommended minimum radius of 9.75 inches when setting up your track to ensure smooth operation.
