Note that the picture might show a different road number. In 1945, as WWII ended, the Reading Railroad realized they lacked super - power steam locomotives. They converted 30 I10 - sa Class 2 - 10 - 0 locomotives to the new T - 1 Northern class between 1945 - 1947. These were mainly used for fast freight on the Reading system and in pool service with the Western Maryland Railway. By 1954, all 30 were in storage, and most were scrapped by 1958. Four were kept for the Iron Horse Rambles. Today, these four still exist. 2102, owned by the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad, occasionally goes on display. In 2022, Broadway Limited produced N - scale Reading T - 1 4 - 8 - 4 steam locomotives. There are three in - service models and three 'Iron Horse Ramble' models, with various paint schemes.
