Description
BLI presents the 6788 SD40 - 2 diesel locomotive of Ontario Northland #1733 in HO scale, featuring the Paragon 4 system with sound and DCC. The picture might show a different road number. Introduced in 1972 by EMD, the SD40 - 2 is an all - time popular diesel locomotive. From 1972 to 1989, nearly 4,000 units were built. With 3,000 horsepower, it's more reliable than higher - horsepower locomotives and became an industry standard for decades. It shares a frame with SD38 - 2 and SD45 - 2, having distinctive 'porches' due to the longer frame for HT - C trucks. The SD40 - 2 can be identified by three roof - mounted radiator fans and a single large exhaust stack. In 2021, we're offering 11 paint schemes and one unpainted model. Our model has industry - leading features like the Paragon4 Sound & Control System with ROLLING THUNDER, an integral dual - mode decoder for smooth operation in DC and DCC, a precision drive mechanism for heavy towing, and much more. The Broadway Limited Imports Paragon4 sets a new standard for premium HO sound - equipped locomotives, offering dual - mode operation, superb motor control, and excellent on - board sound.

Using your Broadway Limited Imports Paragon 4 HO scale SD40 - 2 locomotive is easy. First, make sure your track is clean and in good condition. The locomotive can operate on Code 70, 83, and 100 rail, with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches. For DC operation, you can use the DCMaster for sound. In DCC, it comes with an integral decoder for smooth control. When using the sound features, you can enjoy a variety of realistic sounds like horns, whistles, and bell ringing. You can adjust the bell ringing interval and select different horns according to your preference. For maintenance, regularly clean the wheels and electrical pick - up points to ensure good conductivity. If you need to reset the locomotive to factory settings, just press the EZ Reset Button. When storing the locomotive, keep it in a dry and dust - free place to prevent damage to the delicate details like handrails and antennas.
