Description
You're eyeing an amazing Atlas model train, the FMC 5077 DD Boxcar for the Seattle & North Coast Line, numbered #1097 in N scale (Part#150 - 50005258). Note that the picture might show a different road number. This boxcar represents FMC's foray into the Plate B IPD box - car era. Its design aimed to be the most versatile, fitting most common railroad clearances. It was available with or without end - of - car cushioning and came in several door setups. Between 1975 and 1979, FMC's Portland, Oregon plant churned out over 4,300 of these cars. They were delivered in a variety of colorful short - line paint schemes and also joined the Railbox nationwide car pool fleet. Later, many second - hand cars were spotted in Class 1 railroads and large leasing company fleets under additional short - line reporting marks. Key features include single or double sliding doors as appropriate, multiple body styles, body - mounted couplers, a Plate B box - car design, and an X - Panel roof.

Using this Atlas model train boxcar is easy. Just place it on your N - scale train track and couple it to other cars in your train set. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid any damage to the couplers or the body. As for maintenance, regularly clean the wheels with a soft, dry cloth to ensure smooth movement on the tracks. Check the couplers occasionally to make sure they're still in good working condition. If you notice any loose parts, use a small screwdriver to tighten them. Store the boxcar in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight to prevent any paint fading or warping of the plastic parts.
