Description
The Atlas 20005863 is a HO scale 50' postwar boxcar representing the Canadian National (CN) #550017, painted in boxcar red and white. Note that the picture might show a different road number. After World War II, railroads bought many 50' AAR boxcars with a standard design from the late 1940s. This design, based on the 1937 AAR one, was updated postwar with an improved dreadnaught end and diagonal panel roofs. These boxcars were common on American railroads until the 1970s and 1980s. Features include separately applied ladders and grab irons, three side sill styles (straight, tabbed, and fishbelly), 8' & 9' Superior or Youngstown doors, a fully detailed underframe, free - rolling trucks with metal wheelsets, and accurate printing and prototypical paint schemes.

Using this HO scale Atlas boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and let it roll along. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders and grab irons. To keep it looking great, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the paint. Store the boxcar in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or damage to the parts. If you notice any issues with the free - rolling trucks or metal wheelsets, check for any debris that might be causing the problem and carefully remove it.
