Description
This Atlas 20005855 HO Scale 50' Postwar Boxcar represents the Chesapeake & Ohio #19520 in black and yellow. Note that the picture might show a different road number. After World War II, railroads bought many 50' AAR boxcars with a standard design from the late 1940s. It's based on the 1937 AAR design but was updated post - war, featuring an improved dreadnaught end and diagonal panel roofs. These boxcars were common on American railroads until the 1970s and 1980s. Key features include separately applied ladders and grab irons, three side sill styles (straight, tabbed, and fishbelly), 8' & 9' Superior or Youngstown doors, a fully detailed underframe, free - rolling trucks with metal wheelsets, and accurate printing with prototypical paint schemes.

Using this Atlas HO Scale boxcar is easy. Just place it on your model railroad track and let it roll. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid damaging the separately applied ladders and grab irons. For storage, keep it in a dry and clean place to prevent any rust on the metal wheelsets. If the boxcar gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint. With proper care, your boxcar will look great and run smoothly on your model railroad for a long time.
