Description
The Atlas 10004211 DASH 8-40C Pan Am #7585 is a top - notch HO scale model train. It comes in a sleek dark blue and black color combination, with front ditch lights and is equipped with DCC & Sound functionality. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Built by General Electric for Union Pacific in the late 1980s, the real - life DASH 8 - 40C diesel locomotives had an enlarged exhaust stack and dynamic brake grids in a square - like unit behind the cab. These 4,000 hp six - axle engines are still in service in North America. The 4,000hp Dash 8 - 40CW, a follow - up to the Dash 8 - 40C, was produced from 1989 to 1993 and introduced GE’s wide - nose “North American Safety Cab”. It's widely used by major railroads and can be seen under new owners due to mergers. The 2024 or later models have great upgrades like metal couplers, better headlight/ditchlight color and brightness, independently controlled lit number boards, and more. The features include ditch lights, realistic die - cast underframe, factory - equipped AccuMate® knuckle couplers, and much more. The Atlas Master™ Series Gold has additional features such as support for all DCC - programming modes. The ESU LokSound offers over 20 sound effects for a realistic experience.
Using your Atlas 10004211 DASH 8-40C Pan Am #7585 model train is easy. First, make sure your track is clean and properly connected.
