Description
Discover the Athearn ATH18423 NACC 50' Box Car in HO scale, specifically the JWAX - Johnson Wax #49072 model. This box car comes with numerous great features. It offers three road numbers, applied metal grab irons, and etched end platforms. You can choose between Pullman Standard or Superior plug doors, and a matching Pullman Standard or Stanray (Superior) roof. It's fully - assembled and ready to run right out of the box. The body is accurately painted and printed, with a highly detailed, injection - molded design. It's weighted for smooth operation and comes with Ready - To - Roll 70 ton trucks and machined 33' metal wheels that work on all popular track brands. The body - mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers are a great addition. The window packaging allows for easy viewing, and the interior plastic blister safely holds the model for storage. It has a minimum radius of 18'. The prototype was designed by the North American Car Co. in the 1960s, a time of significant railroad development. Many railroads used these cars, often leased to private shippers. The NACC cars had complex, colorful paint schemes. The coupler style is McHenry Scale Knuckle, suitable for those aged 14 and above, and no assembly is required.

Using this Athearn box car is easy. Since it's fully - assembled, you can just take it out of the box and place it on your track. Make sure the track you use is one of the popular brands as the machined 33' metal wheels are designed to work on them. When handling the car, be careful with the applied metal grab irons and the body - mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers. For storage, keep it in the window packaging with the interior plastic blister, which will protect it well. To maintain the car, avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity as this could damage the paint and the body. You can gently dust it off with a soft cloth every once in a while to keep it looking good. If you notice any loose parts, it's best to consult a professional for repair.
