Description
The ASD4 Atlas Decoder is designed for N - scale train control systems. It has a drop - in interface type, making installation easy. With dimensions of 2.309' x 0.355' x 0.089' (58.65mm x 9.02mm x 2.26mm), it's compact. It offers 1.0/2.0 Amp continuous/peak power, 4 total functions, and a function rating of 80 mA. There are 2 12V outputs, 2 LED outputs, and 2 onboard LEDs. This decoder is suitable for Atlas locomotives like GP7/GP9, GP15, GP30, and GP35. It comes with great features such as Back EMF Load Compensation for superior slow - speed control, Quiet Drive for buzz - free motor performance, and DC Mode that can automatically detect DC power. RailCom® enables communication with the command station, and Variable Momentum allows custom acceleration and deceleration. It supports LED and incandescent bulbs without external resistors, offers function remapping, 20 programmable lighting effects, dimmable brightness, decoder lock, Airwire™ compatibility, and user - loadable speed tables.

Using the ASD4 Atlas Decoder is quite straightforward. First, since it's a drop - in type, you can easily install it in your N - scale Atlas locomotives like GP7/GP9, GP15, GP30, and GP35. Just follow the installation guide to ensure a proper fit. When it comes to power, the decoder will automatically detect DC power, but you can also set how the lighting effects work on DC. You can customize many aspects of this decoder. For example, use the Variable Momentum feature to create your own acceleration and deceleration curves. With the function remapping, you can use buttons 0 through 12 to control the lighting functions. Choose from 20 different programmable lighting effects to make your train more interesting. And don't forget to configure the dimmable brightness for your LEDs or incandescent bulbs. Regarding maintenance, keep the decoder clean and free from dust. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you're programming the decoder, make sure to use the decoder lock feature to prevent accidental changes. With the user - loadable speed tables, you can set custom speed curves and limits, but do it carefully to ensure smooth operation of your train.
